Sandhill cranes have been dancing for ten million years thats documented fossil record, not metaphor. Their courtship displays involve leaping, bowing, wing spreading, and calling in unison, and Ive watched these dances in Florida fields enough to paint them from memory. The joy in these paintings is real. I work freehand on
