The rest of the deck is filled with cards that either are creatures that modified themselves, have effects that let you modify creatures, or are spells that help modify your creatures
As the battle progresses, damage counters appear to indicate the points subtracted from a Pokemon's hit points as they are attacked, and once their HP is reduced to zero, they are knocked-out, and their cards are placed on the "Discard" pile
