Honestly, pretty neat, just in an archetype that doesn't really inspire
It turned the format on its side and checked the box for our annual(?) direct-to-Modern release
At times, Ive also found it annoying to clear the stack when a lot of triggers happen at once, but Im willing to accept that as a consequence of Magics rules engine
Their unique abilities, powerful attacks, and strategic importance have made them iconic choices for competitive and casual players alike
However, theyre by no means necessary, so you should pretty much always take good, playable cards over them
HGSS and Black/White alone give you almost everything you need (Ninetales, Reshiram, Typhlosion, Collector, Juniper, even Emboar if you want to try it that way)
