That makes Recoil one of those cards that has a hard time being bad until the point when your opponent has extra lands they can hold in their hand in order to discard them, at which point most decks that run Recoil are either using that as an excuse to crank up the discard engine or more likely happy enough to have survived this long that they don't care
Red One of the things I havent liked much about reds ability to exile cards from the top of your library and then play them is that youve had to spend mana to do it, and that mana is something youd rather use to actually cast the spells
Some hold value because players want the cards for decks, while others become collectible because of the artist, theme, or IP attached to the release
There's also a lot of these effects running around, which could lead to a scenario where you are drawing 10+ cards per turn
