G' maker's mark, the crowned lion stamp for London and the remnants of what appears to be the 'U' date stamp for 1775 can be seen to the base (the absence of a duty stamp indicates a date before 1784 and the stamp border is consistent with the 1756 1775 period; the letter portion visible is consistent with the styled letter 'U' within this period).
