भगवद्गीता से रहस्यमय पुस्तक मैंने आज तक नहीं पढ़ी। मानव जीवन के कितने गूढ़ रहस्य छिपे हैं इसमें। कुछ बाहर से दिखते हैं और बाकी शांत इस बड़े संसार रूपी रहस्यमय वातावरण में असंख्य वायु कणों की भाँति अलोप हैं। गीता पढ़ कर आभास हुआ कि कितना जीवन तो व्यर्थ हो गया। इसका सार समझना केवल कठिन ही नहीं कठिनतम है परंतु उसे आत्मसात करना लगभग असंभव। पर वह मानव ही क्या जो असंभव को सम्भव ना करे। जब मैंने गीता पढ़ी तब लगा कि भाषा को समझने में सुगमता ना होने के कारण लोग गीता पढ़ तो पाते हैं पर समझ नहीं पाते। कदाचित यह भी उस परम्ब्रह्म परमात्मा की कृपा दृष्टि व आदेश था कि मैं गीता का संदेश उन लोगों तक पहुँचाऊँ। मैंने इसका सरलीकरण करने का प्रयास किया है और यह भी प्रयास किया है कि इसे काव्य बद्ध कर पाऊँ जिससे यह याद रह पाए। कर्म के सिद्धांतों को उजागर करती गीता यदि प्रत्येक जन तक पहुंचा पाऊँ तो शायद मेरा लेखन और जीवन दोनों का उद्देश्य पूर्ण हो जाएगा।
